An early-medieval early silver penny (sceat) of Secondary Phase Series J (type 37; Naismith Series Ja) dating to c.AD710/15-25/30, mint: Humber region (East Yorkshire or northern Lincolnshire). There is some copper corrosion products, especially on the surface of the reverse, but it does not appear that this is a plated copy rather a lower fineness of silver.   Diameter: 13 mm; Weight: 0.93g

An Early Medieval silver early penny (sceat) of the Secondary Phase 'Triquestras' group (BMC type 52; Naismith Series TRd), dating to c AD720-30, mint unknown. Refs: Naismith 2017: table 4, pl. 13 nos 396-7; Gannon 2013: 118-19, pl. 515-17, especially 517. The coin is in poor condition, much of the design encrusted and corroded. However the characteristic wreath ties either side of the face are visible as is the tightly curved shoulders formed of lines and pellets.
