A Gold semissis of the House of Constantine (Constantius II or Constans as Caesar) dating to AD 335. VICTORIA CAESARVM reverse type depiciting Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm. Mint of Siscia. This type is recorded for a solidus (RIC VII, p. 457, cf. 248-9), but not a semissis (see RIC VII, p. 457, nos. 250-1 for other types). This therefore appears to be the first example of this particular coins.
