A half of a possible cast lead counterfitters mould for a George III halfpenny (34mm x 37mm; thickness: 6mm; weight: 34.74g), probably dating between 1800-20 AD as '18[ ]' is just visible on the surface. The bust seems to be facing right with the remains of the inscription around the outer edge. The back of the possible mould is plain with no decroation. However, if this artefact is mould, the inscription especially is not deep enough. It seems that this artefact may have also been taken from a real coin to get an impression with the coin placed on the lead.

Roughly circular lead token, probably from the Post-Medieval period. Its diameter is 17mm. It is impressed yielding raised desigs. On the obverse are ?open shears whilst on the reverse is a simple cross. It is tempting to connect this token to an element of the cloth trade.

Contemporary cast lead/tin forgery of an antoninianus of Tacitus. It has has incomplete flan, so part of the legend on the obverse and any mint mark on the reverse are lost. The coin has a diameter of c.21mm and weighs 4.82g. When new and in bright condition this coin would probably have easily passed as the plated, copper alloy antoniniaus it was copying. Small lead disc, stamped on both faces using a sceatta, on one face a cross, on the other what may be a bust, probably produced using a series D type 2c, c. AD.675-750. The function of this unusual object is unknown. In the post medieval period, dies of lead stamped in this way using Nuremberg jettons are known and are generally classified as weights. This object may perhaps have had a similar function.

Lead coin. A modern replica, as kindly identified by the finder. This example is probably intended to resemble an Anglo-Saxon sceat, and appears from its edge to be constructed from the union of two separate thin flans. Their unpatinated surfaces may suggest this to be a recent addition to a corpus of fake base metal coins purporting to be of Anglo-Saxon or Iron Age date. Their distribution is centred in north-eastern Lincolnshire, with a postulated 'mint' in the Grimsby area. They are thought to have been broadcast in jest or malice on known detecting fields.
