Silver penny of Edward I, possibly 3d/3g (mule the stops on the obverse are wedges rather than crescents, there is an early S on the obverse and a late S on the reverse), date is 1280-1282AD. Obverse has the crowed bust of the king facing with the legend EDWAR ANG […] HyB. Reverse has a long cross pattée, with 3 pellets in each quarter, dividing the legend CIVI/TAS/LON/ DON. A possible contemporary copy of a double patard of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy (1467-77). It is apparently lead with a tin plating, rather than silver. Measures 26mm and weighs 2.07g. The coin is incomplete, bent and mutilated.
