A silver Roman Republican denarius of Marcus Antonius (Mark Antony) dating from 32-31 BC. The obverse depicts a galley and the legend: AVG is all that can be deciphered. The reverse type is a legionary eagle between two standards. The coin is very worn and the reverse inscription is not visible so it is not possible to identify which legion. An example of this type can be found in Sear, D.R., 1988 Roman Coins and their Values, Seaby p88 , No.412. The weight is 3.24g, 17.44mm diameter and a thicknesss of 1.42mm.
