An incomplete, clipped post-medieval base silver penny of Philip and Mary (1554-1558). Base issue (North 1976). Initial mark: halved rose and castle, dating to 1554-1558. Mint of London (Tower). North (1975, 106). It has suffered some a loss equating to around 15% of the original flan. It measures 16.9mm in diameter, 0.4mm and weighs 0.38g

This coin is in two parts, one equating to around three-fifths of the coin, the other to around one quarter. The remainder of the coin has been lost as a result of old damage. The measurements given below relate to the larger piece; the weight is a combined value.
