A complete Medieval base silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), class 3g (wide face) dating to AD 1280-1282. Canterbury mint. As North (1991) no: 1022.
Obverse description: Facing bust with trifoliate crown, drapery of angled wedges; initial cross potent. Obverse inscription: +EDW R ANGL DNS hYB Reverse description: Long cross, three pellets in each angle. Reverse inscription: CIVI/TAS/CAN/TOR
Measurements: diameter: 20.20mm; thickness: 0.87mm and weight: 1.30g.
