A copper-alloy Roman nummus, possibly a contemporary copy of Decentius (AD 351-353), dating to the period c.AD 351-353 (Reece period 18). SALVS DD NN AVG ET CAES reverse type depicting a Chi-Rho between alpha and omega. Prototype of the mint of Trier. A copper-alloy nummus of Constantius II (Reece period 18), probable FEL TEMP REPARATIO reverse possibly depicting a Phoenix, dating 348-350. There is also evidence for the coin being pierced, and this may be associated with Early Medieval (particularly early 'Anglo-Saxon') use of the coin as a pendant. The piercing does not appear to have any relation/orientation to either face.
