An extremely worn and corroded 3rd-century copper-alloy probable Roman radiate of uncertain ruler, standing figure reverse, uncertain mint (c. 260 - c. 296 AD; Reece issue period 13 or 14).
This coin has been pierced perhaps to covert it into an item of jewellery. It has been perforated at about 2 o'clock on the obverse and about 6 o'clock on the reverse. This practice is known from the early-medieval period although a Roman date cannot be ruled out.
