A copper alloy post-medieval Spanish maravedis resellado (resealed or restruck) of probably Philip IV (1621-65). It is exceedingly worn with perhaps the trace of a shield on one face, S below, and countermarked on the other face with a VI and a II, each in a circular stamp. There is a small c below the VI and there is possibly an additional I after II.
The S suggests the coin was originally struck at the Segovia or the Sevilla mint, and its size suggests it was originally an 8-maravedis.
