A probably contemporary copy of a radiate of Philip II as Caesar (AD 244-6) (Reece Period 12), PRINCIPI IVVENT reverse depicting Philip II standing left holding globe in right hand and long vertical spear in left. Minted at Rome. RIC volume IV part 3, p.96, cf. no. 218(d). The coin carries traces of original silvering, is worn and very corroded.

A silver Roman radiate hybrid of Philip II as Augustus (AD 246-9) struck in c. AD 249 (Reece Period 12). IOVI CONSERVAT, Jupiter standing left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre. Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 3, p. 95, no. 213 for reverse type for Philip II as Caesar (AD 244-6) The reverse type is unlisted in RIC and RSC for Philip II as Augustus, but is recorded (with a different obverse legend) for coins struck during the period he held the rank of Caesar (RIC IV, pt 3, p. 95, no. 213).
