A late Early-Medieval (Anglo Saxon) penny of Edward the Martyr (AD 975-8); 'small cross' type (North 763); moneyer: Seaxbeorht (Sehxbyryht); mint: Lewes. Ref: North 1994: 157-8.
The coin shows slightly odd wear patterns with the bust on the obverse and a small patch of the inscription very worn in comparison to the rest of the coin, with the wear in the inscription mirrored with similar wear on the reverse.

Edward the Martyr Penny.
The moneyer is Edwin and the mint is either Southampton or Northampton (the former now more likely). Also of interest is the fact that the combination of this moneyer and mint is not mentioned in North (1963).
