This coin is similar to Van Arsdell's no. 1242-1, which is listed under his 'Durotriges, Uninscribed Coinage' and described as a 'Later Geometric Type, White Gold or Billion Quarter Stater' (1989: 296). It is similar to British Museum nos. 2734-47 (Hobbs 1996: 68). Rudd suggests a date c. 58 BC - AD 43 (2010: 110).

A worn and slightly damaged copper-alloy Iron Age bronze unit probably of Tasciovanus or Dias dating to the late first century BC (cf. ABC 2751 and 2706). The obverse bust appears to bear similarity to Dias, with the reverse appearing nearly identical to a reverse of Tasciovanus depicting a seated figure and wine cup. The coin is slightly dished to the reverse and appears to have suffered slight circumferential losses.
