A fragment of a silver denarius of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), Reverse type EXPECTATE VEN(I), Britannia standing right, holding vertical sceptre, clasping hands of emperor standing left, holding vertical sceptre. Approximately 50% of the coin survives, the figure of the emperor can be seen, Britannia is missing. Sam Moorhead notes this is an unusual but probably official style. The diameter is 18.06 mm, the thickness is 1.3 mm, weight is 0.97g

Silver denarius of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), CONSER A, Neptune seated left with anchor and trident. Mintmark: - // RSR. RIC V, pt 2, p. 510, cf. no. 553. This coin has an unrecorded obverse legend, IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG, for the type. However, it shares a reverse die with a coin in the Hunter Cabinet (no. 162) at Glasgow.
