A slightly corroded late Iron Age Bronze unit. The level of corrosion on the obverse makes exact identification difficult but this is tentatively identified as an 'Uncertain Northern Bronze type', British Museum no. 2450-2460 (R. Hobbs; 1996; pp. 147); Van Arsdell type 1615-1 (1989; pp. 351). It measures 12.6mm in diameter, 1.2mm thick and weighs 0.79g.

Bronze unit, some wear and some recent damage on the edge. Identifiable as VA 154-3 "Kentish uncertain", Hobbs 2484-2486 "uninscribed south-eastern bronze". Around 35 are listed on CCI database (http://www.writer2001.com/cciwriter2001/BritishLists/Cantii/Cantii_59.htm), the majority of located ones being from Kent and two from Essex (Tilbury, Maldon) - thus this eg is the farthest north found as yet.

Gold quarter stater, some wear, and abrasion on the obverse, Hobbs 1638. This type is not recorded in Van Arsdell; there are five in the BM including that illustrated in Hobbs all from Essendon, Herts and another six on the Celtic Coin Index (CCI 930963, 941350, 980498 from Watford, Tring and Bishops Stortford; 962670, 971014, 980125 unlocated). The type is related to Whaddon Chase and Tasciovanus types, distribution so far is Hertforshire (but Bishops Stortford eg noted as possibly from Essex, so this example is the most easterly so far but within the Catuvellauni/Trinovantes area.

A silver unit of late Iron Age date. This coin, which survives in good condition, with little wear or corrosion, is classifed by Van Arsdell as a Late Whaddon Chase Type 1558-1 (1989; pp. 348) and has a suggested date of c.45-40 BC. It is British Museum type 376 (R. Hobbs; 1996; pp. 65). It measures 12.7mm in diameter, 1.3mm thick and weighs 1.17g.

An incomplete silver unit of Late Iron Age date. The British Museum catalogue classifies this coin as an Early Uninscribed 'LX' type, no. 377-379 (R. Hobbs; 1996; pp. 65); Van Arsdell describes it as a Middle Whaddon Chase Type, no. 1546-1, and suggests a date of c. 45-40BC (1989; pp.347). The remaining coin is in good condition, with little wear or corrosion. It measures 12mm in diameter, 1.4mm thick and weighs 0.64g.
