Silver coin. Possibly a porcupine sceat of Series E, possibly a half unit (cf. E151). On the obverse detail of the 'quills', which entirely lack the pelleted ends where they spring from the curving 'body', is unusual. On the reverse, the standard motif lacks a range of additional features, and is again a shorthand version of the reverse of larger coins. Obverse description: Eight long quills arising from a crescent; two bars within its curve. Reverse description: Rectangular standard with central annulet and outer border of pellets. Early Medieval plated contemporary copy of a Dirham of Abbasid, Hârûn ar-Rashîd 170-193 AH./786-809AD. and Da'ûd, an unidentified official found on Dirham with the mint name al-Muhammadîya 170-174, 182-186 The coin was a product of the same area as the official coinage and appears to be quite rare.
