A complete worn silver Early-Medieval penny of Edward the Confessor (AD 1042-1066), pointed helmet type dating to the period AD 1053-1056. The obverse shows a bearded bust facing right, wearing a pointed helmet. His right arm and hand are shown holding a sceptre fleury. The reverse shows a short cross voided with each arm ending in three small crescents, facing to the border. Struck by the moneyer Brihtwold in Oxford. As North no. 825.
