An incomplete copper alloy sceat of early medieval date, probably of a late type, possibly Series L (c.AD700-770). This is a fragment of a coin with approximately a third of the circumference intact. The original diameter would be approximately 13mm.. About half of the remaining coin is obscured by green copper corrosion salts.
