A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver sceat (710-740) of Wodan Series H, Type 49, H804/H900 (Abramson 2006: 16 and 73; North 1994: 64, ref: 103, plate 1, no. 48). Mint of Hamwic (Southampton).
Obverse: Moustached face centrally with a beaded outline, nine roundels with pellets between and cross pattée below face, all within a beaded border.
Reverse: Crested peacock displaying right, roundels above and below head, pellet between legs, pellets behind, all within a beaded border.
Diameter: 12.2mm. Weight: 0.86g. DA=12:7.
