An early medieval Series D type 2c sub variety 3d early silver penny (sceat or sceatta) dating to between 690-710 AD. As Metcalf 1993: 184-190 or Abramson 2017: 65, 8-10. The obverse has a radiate crowned bust facing right with transverse A behind. The reverse has a central cross with a pellet in each angle surrounded by blundered letters. This type is thought to be a continental issue, likely minted at Domburg.
