A silver coin of the early medieval period. The obverse carries a device of a hand within an inner circle. The reverse also has an inner circle containing a cross potent with a pellet at the end of each arm. The legends are illegible. After searching the references books, it seems possible that this coin is not English (possibly French?). It has been referred to specialists and the record will be updated when it has been identified. It is 16.9mm in diameter and 0.6mm thick. It weighs 0.37gm. One side of the coin is bent and nearly broken.
