A damaged and incomplete early medieval silver sceat dating to c AD 700 -765. Series E, Frankener variety F. Obverse: Quilled 'dolphin-shaped' crescent with pellet on body and pellet outline enclosing three bars. Reverse shows beaded standard with central anulet, opposing right angles and saltire. Possible pseudo-lettering around standard. There is damage to the coin, approximately one quarter of the circumference is chipped and material missing from the flan. Part of the standard is thus missing, the corner opposite the saltire.

Early Medieval coin, silver penny fragment possibly of Aethelstan (924-939) and certainly dating from around this period up to 1066. Less than one quarter of the coin survives with the reverse appearing to be of the type showing a small cross at the centre of a circle and the obverse possibly being of similar design or possibly containing a simple portrait. The present condition of the coin makes further observations and classification difficult.
