An Early Medieval silver penny of Aethelred II (AD 968-1016), dating AD 1009-117. Intermediate small cross type. Obverse depicts stylised bust in profile facing left. Inscription read EÐELRED REX AN. The reverse depicts a short cross patee within a circle. Inscription reads LEOFǷINE . MO . NORǷ. Minted in Norwich. Dimensions: diameter: 18.96 mm; weight: 1.35g.
