Silver coin. Sceat; the finder kindly identifies this as Metcalfe vol. 2 page 256, 'Star Herstal' type. Abramson 2006 (page 93) suggests an origin around Namur [now France], 'Hexagon', He20, issue of 720-745. Obverse description: Plain cross within Star of Solomon, pellets in angles of star. Reverse description: Plain cross, rayed, with a smaller cross springing from the foot of the central cross, taking its place between rays. Diameter: 12mm, Weight: 0.65gms

Obverse description: Degenerate radiate bust cuirassed right, nose is a large V-shaped feature with pellets within and adjacent. Obverse inscription: OVhV, possibly retrograde or including runic character [here rendered 'h'] Reverse description: Cross pommee with a pellet in each angle. Reverse inscription: possibly INO[--], direction of reading uncertain. Diameter: 11.5mm, Weight: 1.15gms
