A worn Iron Age silver unit of the Western Region Dobunni tribe dating to the period c. 60-25 BC. The coin is a variant of the 'Cotswold Eagle' type, with an obverse head similar to Cottam's (2010:104) Head Type D. The cross motif on the reverse of the coin under the horse's body is derivied from a cock's head, however this example does appear a later style than is usually seen on most Cotswold Eagle issues. cf. ABC 2021.

Reverse:Horse advancing right with spiral sun above and two dot-in-pellet motifs in front. Below the horse's front leg are three dot-in-pellet motifs with a fourth below the hoof.
