Post Medieval silver, possible contemporary forgery of a halfcrown of Charles I (1625-1649), Group IV, initial mark is not visible, but it is minted between AD 1640 to 1644, North 2214. The edges may have been slightly hammered and have file marks which suggest it may be a contemporary copy.

Description: A gold post-medieval Half-unite of Charles I dating to AD 1643. Civil War period, Thomas Bushell's mint, Oxford (North 2395). This coin has been bent in the form of a love token and has a circular perforation to the right of the bust located at 2 o'clock on the obverse. The circular perforation has been made from the obverse. Obverse: Crowned bust left with X behind. Bust extends to bottom of coin.
