A Post Medieval silver fourpence of Charles II (AD 1660-1685). Dated to AD 1679 on coin (Spink 3384). London mint. Coin has been bent into an S-shape to potentially act as a charm or token.

A silver coin of Post-Medieval date, probably dating to the period c.AD 1694-1702. The coin is extremely worn rendering all detail illegible. A possible attempt at engraving, though indistinct, is present on both sides.
Worn coins with possible lettering such as this were probably used as love tokens. Coins of William III (AD 1694-1702) were commonly converted into love tokens and this example is roughly the right size for a fourpence (groat) of William III though no detail remains to confirm this attribution.
