Copper-alloy contemporary copy of an as of Claudius (AD 41-54), dating to c. AD 41-64 (Reece Period 2). The coin is an unusual hybrid copied from two different issues. Obverse: [ ... ]VS CAESAR AVG IM[ ... ], head left; reverse: TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AV[ ... ], S C, Claudius standing left. Prototypes struck at Rome. Obv. ref.: RIC I, pp. 127-8, obv. legends 3 & 8; rev. ref.: RIC I, pp. 127 & 129, cf. nos. 92 & 104.
