A copper-alloy disc, which is probably a coin. The object is very worn however a few un-discernible mounds are suggestive of a head/bust in centre and presence of a worn legend on at least one side. It is therefore impossible to assign a date or period. Weight 0.71g, diameter 12.84mm, thickness 1.42mm.

A copper-alloy coin, token or other disc-shaped object. This artefact is now severely worn and corroded. No marks are visible on one surface. The other surface has a stamped design of five sets of three pellets, in recess, closely grouped together (trefoils). These are spaced equidistant from one another, approximately 2.25mm in from the edge. In the centre of the disc is a faint trace of a single stamped design. The central design seems to be similar to a four leaf-clover or the ends of a Cross Fourchée. No examples of a disc (coin or token) with these exact elements wwas found; how…

A copper-alloy coin or thin metal disc. If this artefact was a coin, it is now severely worn. Under magnification it is clear that there are slight striations on both surfaces, which are just discernable by eye. It has not been possible to date this item. Die axis was not possible to identify, diameter 20.30mm, thickness 0.71mm.

Object type: COIN
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Cambridgeshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An extremely worn and illegible silver coin, probably of Medieval to Post-Medieval date. Both the obverse and reverse are completely worn and are now illegible as are both the obverse and reverse legends. The thinness of the flan suggests that it was probably a struck rather than milled coin. The flan has been bent into a stretched 'S' shaped profile and as such may well have been used as a love token. Die axis is uncertain. Weight is 1.54g, diameter is 19.3mm and thickness is 0.6mm.

A completely illegible copper-alloy disc. Weight is 4.00g, diameter is 23.9mm and thickness is 1.8mm. This might possibly be a Post-Medieval coin, either a halfpenny or farthing depending on when during the Post-Medieval period as the flan sizes of these denominations alter slightly. If this disc was originally a coin the die axis is unknown.

A sub-circular irregularly shaped disc of copper-alloy that might originally have been a coin, probably of Roman date. If this was a coin and is not of Roman date then it may be of Post-Medieval date. Both sides of the disc are worn and, if originally a coin, now completely illegible. One surface has a slight raised area. The opposite side has a larger raised area that might possible be the remains of an extremely worn head or bust. This artefact weighs 6.27g, has a maximum diameter of 26.0mm, thickness at the edge of c.1.8mm rising to a maximum thickness of 2.7mm. The disc…

An extremely worn silver coin. The coin weighs 1.9g, has a diameter of 19.4mm and thickness of 0.6mm. The thinness, look and feel of this coin would suggest a hammered rather than milled coin. No legend is even slightly visible on either the obverse or reverse. One side of the flan seems to show the ends of a laureate tie, reverse head profile, forehead and upper nose profile of a head or bust right. It is important to note that the end of the ribbon tie almost touched the edge (or current edge) of the flan, thus allowing no space for a legend. The other side of the flan is worn…

A copper-alloy coin of uncertain date, probably not roman. This is possibly a halfpenny coin of George I, AD1714-1727, dating to AD1717-1724. Obverse is extremely worn but probably shows an unclear bust right. Obverse legend is completely illegible. Reverse is extremely worn but may show the downwards outstretched arm and shoulder of Britannia seated left. Reverse legend is completely illegible. Die axis is probably 10 or 11 o'clock. Weight is 8.17g, diameter is 26.9mm, thickness is 2.2mm.
