An uninscribed base silver Iron Age stater of the Durotriges, South Western region, dating to the period c.65 BCAD 45. The coin is of the "Cranborne Chase" type.  The obverse shows a pattern that was originally based on a stylised head (possibly of Apollo), although the design has 'devolved' into something more abstract.
