A contemporary copy of an Early Uninscribed gold Stater of late Iron Age date. No exact parallel could be found for this coin. The reverse design suggests that it is an amalgam of elements copied from genuine Staters of southern England, in particular the 'L' to 'QC' types (see R. Hobbs; 1996; pp. 60-73).
The coin has a copper-alloy core and a gilt surface. The flan is oval in plan and plano-convex. It measures 18.5mm in diameter, 1.7mm thick and weighs 2.89g.
