A complete silver possible coin, of possible Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). The possible coin is misshapen, possibly due to having been subjected to a heat source. Both the obverse and reverse are unclear. It is possible to make out the remains of probable letters along one edge, reading [ ]IVS[ ]. Diameter: 13.70 mm Thickness: 1.93 mm Weight: 1.3 g. The identification of this artefact as a coin is only a possibility, due to the shape and thickness. It is possibly a piece of undiagnostic casting waste.

A struck coin of uncertain date and attribution, probably of prehistoric date. The coin has been struck on a relatively thick blank, similar to those typical of the Iron Age and the circumferential edge of the coin has spread similar to those of the British Iron Age. The metallic composition of the coin is uncertain, but it seems that it is copper alloy in spite of the metallic colour being a very dark greyish-black. One face is decorated with an abstract design including two ring-and-dot designs with curvilinear shapes; the other face bears traces of a figure, perhaps either a stan…

A complete but heavily worn, struck / hammered copper alloy coin, of uncertain dating (AD 200 to AD 1650). The coin is heavily worn, but it is possible to determine a crowned head facing left with pointy beard on the obverse and a possible standing figure on the reverse. The bust on the obverse is similar to that of Charles I of England (AD 1625 to AD 1649) but the size of the copper alloy coin and reverse is not consistent with the range of coins known from that period. Both the obverse and reverse are completely worn and are now illegible as are both the obverse and reverse legends. Silver coin. A medieval or post-medieval hammered coin, with faint indications of an inner circle on one side, and of a discrete rim on the other. Robustly cleaned and possibly flattened, whether recently or in antiquity is uncertain. The mass might suggest this to have been a worn medieval penny or a post-medieval halfgroat. Suggested date: Unknown, 1279-1649. Diameter: 19mm, Weight: 1.04gms

A completely illegible copper-alloy disc. Weight is 4.00g, diameter is 23.9mm and thickness is 1.8mm. This might possibly be a Post-Medieval coin, either a halfpenny or farthing depending on when during the Post-Medieval period as the flan sizes of these denominations alter slightly. If this disc was originally a coin the die axis is unknown.

A sub-circular irregularly shaped disc of copper-alloy that might originally have been a coin, probably of Roman date. If this was a coin and is not of Roman date then it may be of Post-Medieval date. Both sides of the disc are worn and, if originally a coin, now completely illegible. One surface has a slight raised area. The opposite side has a larger raised area that might possible be the remains of an extremely worn head or bust. This artefact weighs 6.27g, has a maximum diameter of 26.0mm, thickness at the edge of c.1.8mm rising to a maximum thickness of 2.7mm. The disc…

An extremely worn silver coin. The coin weighs 1.9g, has a diameter of 19.4mm and thickness of 0.6mm. The thinness, look and feel of this coin would suggest a hammered rather than milled coin. No legend is even slightly visible on either the obverse or reverse. One side of the flan seems to show the ends of a laureate tie, reverse head profile, forehead and upper nose profile of a head or bust right. A very worn and corroded copper alloy coin (probably), possibly either Roman or post-medieval. The appearance of the metal suggests a post-medieval date and the squareness of the coin could indicate a coin of Charles I, however there may be an image on the obverse of a bust facing right, the style of which would suggest a Roman date.
