A white metal German reichspfennig coin of Modern date, c. AD 1940-1945. The coin is small and worn. The obverse is decorated with a faint reichsadler (spread eagle holding swastika) and the legend reads: [...]es Reich. The reverse contains a numeral 1 and the legend reads: Reichspfennig. Although of recent date, its interest may reside in its loss by a German Prisoner of War, either encamped or labouring nearby. Measurements: 15.8mm diameter, thickness 1.4mm, weight 0.7 grams. Die axis 12 o'clock.

An extremely worn post-medieval white metal contemporary forgery of a half crown of William III (1694-1702).  Obverse: laureate bust right; legend [GVLIEL]MVS.[ III. DEI. GRA]. Reverse: illegible.  Measurements: diameter 33.45mm, thickness 1.81mm, weight 9.00g. This example is the right size but is lighter than the official issues of around 15g, a trait often seen on forgeries of the period.  Other examples of contemporary half crown William III forgeries recorded on the PAS database include: WAW-0DF698 and SUSS-9941E6.

The obverse features an eagle on top of a swastika, legend around reading 'Deutsches Reich 1939', translating to German Reich 1939, beaded border around circumference. The reverse features the denomination 'Reichspfennig 50', Mintmark 'A' in exergue between two leaves, minted in Berlin. The coin has a silver patina and has some signs of a dark orangy corrosion. Modern replicas of the early medieval 'sword' type pennies of Eric Bloodaxe (c.939-54) dating to c.AD 952-4. These replicas are struck on a very round flan its weight is too high at 1.64g (the weight standard used for the original issues was 1.4g. The quality of the die cutting is lower than on the original coins. Possibly related to the Ashmore Replicas of the 1970s and 1980s. A probable modern fake of a penny of Edward the Confessor, Winchester mint. The coin appears to be imitating a hammer cross type (AD 1059-1062) although there is no annulet in the quarters of the cross as is usual for this series. The obverse inscription reads 'EADHARRD REX', crowned bust with sceptre right. The reverse reads 'ELFPINNE ON PINC'. The coin is of a very tinny white metal, and is of the correct weight and diameter however there is little wear and no tarnishing and the metal does not look or feel right for silver of this period.

A white metal coin, probably a modern copy of a shilling of James I (1603 - 1625), second coinage (1604 - 1619), trefoil mintmark dating from 1613. Compare North number 2101. The coin appears to be a cast copy with the edge trimmed to remove the casting seam. This has produced an very square and shiny edge to the coin. The metal does not feel or sound like silver, and seems to be softer. The faces of the coin, especially the reverse are indistinct with a dimpled surface, often seen on cast imitations. The imitation coin is probably 20th century in date.

These might hint at a legionary denarius. Cliff Reeves kindly examined this heavily cleaned object, opining that it may either be an early [Republican] Denarius, or possibly a forgery. A white metal moulded copy of an early Post-Medieval Spanish coin. This coin is copying a silver hammered 8 reales of Philip II of Spain (born 1527, reigned 1556-98) minted in Lima (Peru) between 1577 and 1588. Philip II of Spain was the husband of the British Queen, Mary Tudor (born 1516, reigned 1553-1558, married 1554-1558) who was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Philip II of Spain was also responsible for sending the Spanish Armarda to attack England in 1588. The mint mark is D for Lima. This is a very unusual coin that appears to be a forgery of a silver William and Mary possibly tin farthing. It is the right size for a tin farthing according to Spinks 345 but the portarait and reverse are all wrong. The double bust is facing left when it is always right and the reverse portrays a shield which is only portrayed on Guineas or half-gineas and sometimes the half-crown. Making this coin would not have been simple as it is well made and seems an awful lot of work to make an obvious forgery. All denominations appear to be double bust facing right. A silver Roman coin; a Denarius, possibly a modern replica of Antoninus Pius, 138-161AD. It has a diameter of 18.23mm, thickness 2.11mm, weight 2.15g. The surface of the coin is pitted and the obverse legend looks suspicious. The metal does not feel like silver - it is possibly a white metal coating over a base metal core. The coin is copying a denarius of Antoninus Pius with naked Genius or Bonus Eventus on the reverse, number 4069 in Sear Volume II. The coin is scratched and chipped.

This coin purports to be a Roman radiate (Antoninianus) of Gallienus (AD253-268) probably made from billon. The obverse shows the radiate draped cuirassed bust right. The reverse is indistinct but is most likely to be of Concordia standing left, holding patera and cornucopiae. In any event, the coin is in very poor condition with an eroded and split rim.
