A struck or hammered silver double patard of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy (1467-1477AD). Obverse: A shield divided into quarters including: upper left and lower right three fleur de lys, upper right lower left lion rampant. The inscription is worn but likely would have read: KAROLVS:DEI:G:DVX:BVRG:CO:FLA The double stops are made of annulets (:). Reverse: A cross formed from four plumes with a central fleur de lys. The inscription is worn but likely would have read: [SIT NOM]EN DOM[INI B]ENEDICTVM The double stops are made of annulets (:).
