An incomplete Medieval silver plated contemporary forgery of a groat of probably Edward III (1327-77) dating to c.1351-77.
A copper-alloy core is visible with traces of a green patina and the obverse appears to be of billon and is illegible. The reverse is slightly better quality silver and is marked as mint of London.
Diameter 26.5mm, thickness 0.8mm, weight 2g.

Minted at London. The coin has been folded in half, with the reverse outwards. The obverse can not be seen. C.f. North vol 1, p50, no 1148.
