A complete but worn copper alloy 2 Sols (24 Deniers) of Louis XVI of France (1774-1792), of an unclear date. Possibly a contemporary copy, the obverse legend is blundered, and the weight is a little low. The coin is dark silver in colour which may suggest a high tin content.
Obverse: Bust facing left; [LOUIS XVI ROI DES FR]ANÇOIS
Reverse: Pole topped by a Phrygian cap and accosted by 2 and S between two oak branches; [LA] NATION [LA LOI LE ROI]
