A counterfeit lead alloy shilling of George III (AD 1760-1820). The artefact is missing chips to the left of the bust and a substantial part of its right side. NARC-60DCF1 suggests that most counterfeit coins attributed to George III’s reign are dated 1760. It is also possible this was intended as a gaming piece similar to DUR-87EBCD on the database. The object would be heavier than a shilling and appears quite coarse however it lacks the plain reverse to similar to gaming pieces, hence the suggestion of counterfiet coin.
