An incomplete copper 'Turner' twopence of the Post Medieval period, from the reign of Charles I (AD1625-1649).
Minted only in 1629 in Edinburgh.
Obverse description: Triple headed thistle,,pellet stops in legend.
Obverse legend: [CAROLUS] D G MAG BRIT.
Reverse description: Lion rampant left.Two pellets behind.
Reverse legend: [FRAN & ] HIB REX.
The coin is in poor condition with a lot of corrosion on both surfaces,especially the reverse which retains some traces of verdigris masking most of the informative description.
