An incomplete silver penny of the medieval period from the reign of William I of Scotland (AD 1165-1214). Spink Coins of Scotland Ireland and The Islands 2003 p14 no 5029. Obverse description: Head left with sceptre Obverse inscription: [LE REI WILAM]. Reverse description: Voided short cross with six pointed star in each quarter. Reverse inscription:[HUE] WAL[TER] Both faces are worn and there is significant loss of legend either through wear or clipping.
