Silver broken, or cut, half long cross penny of Henry III class 3b, dating 1248. Moneyer: Ion; Bury St Edmunds mint. The cut doesn’t look straight suggesting it may be a break.
Obverse has the crowned head of the king facing. The surviving legend is illegible, but there appears to be a single pellet stop between the X and I.
Reverse has a voided long cross, with three pellets in each quarter, dividing the legend ION/OHS/[...].
Measurements: diameter: 16.8mm; thickness: 0.8mm; weight: 0.63g
