An incomplete Post Medieval copper-alloy Spanish 8 Maravedis coin of Felipe (Phillip III) (1598-1621). The coin is crudely sub-rectangular. The obverse features a rampant lion facing left within a shield. The reverse probably depicts a castle within a shield. Probably struck in Madrid. Counter-stamped with '8' and 'XII' on the obverse and '1652' on the reverse from its later revaluing.

A post medieval Spanish 8 Maravedis coin of Felipe (Phillip) III dated 1606. Segovia mint. The coin has been counterstamped on the obverse with XI[I] over a small letter D; this would have revalued the coin to 12 Maravedis under Felipe IV's reign (1621-1665).

A copper alloy coin. A Spanish eight maravedis coin, possibly of Philip III (1598-1621) or Philip IV (1621-1665). The coin has been countermarked at a later date with an 8 inside a circle on the obverse and a date, possibly 1659, on the reverse. The original designs on both faces are indistinct but are possibly a castle on the obverse and a lion rampant on the reverse.The flan is irregular in shape.
