A silver early Medieval early penny (sceat), Series H (secondary) Type 49: Metcalf 1, Wodan / Peacock, dating to AD 720-745. Obverse: round moustached Woden face centrally with beaded outline surrounded by ten bosses comprising pellets in annulets. Reverse: Crested peacock displaying right with linear body, splayed feet and pellet within ring of pellets below neck. Hamwic (Southampton) Mint.
