Silver coin. Halfpenny of Edward III (1327-1377); if not perhaps a penny of Edward IV (1461-1470 and 1471-1483), probably York mint. The tall crown of Edward III’s Fourth Coinage (1351-1377) is perhaps the earliest this coin’s obverse could belong to, so this should be a later medieval issue of 1351-1483
Obverse description: facing bare-shouldered bust with tall bifoliate crown whose ornaments appear to touch; initial mark Plain cross.
Obverse inscription: possibly +E[---]ANGLI
Reverse description: long cross, three pellets in each angle, central quatrefoil

A clipped silver halfpenny of Henry VI, during his first reign (1422-61).
The obverse shows a very worn design of a facing bust with a bifoliate crown. The legend has been clipped and very worn, but a X (saltire stop) AN are somewhat distinguishable.
The reverse bears a long cross design with three pellets in each quarter. Half of the legend is clipped, visible is LON DON with a circular stop after the N.
This is similar to the Rosette-Mascle issue, but any further identification cannot be done with any certainty.
