A copper alloy early Medieval coin; a Northumbrian styca probably of Aethelred II, probably first reign, dating from AD 840 - 844. The coin probably falls into Pirie's group C and the moneyer is Monne. The obverse central motif is a cross pattee (A1) and on the reverse is an unclear cross of pellets. Mint of Northumbria.
Dimensions:
The coin is 11.6mm in diameter, 1.7mm thick and weighs 0.70g.
