A late medieval gros of Marie of Burgundy (1477-82), minted in either Flanders or Holland and dated 1478 (Van Gelder and Hoc 1960, nos 41-3 or 41-4). Ref: Van Gelder and Hoc 1960. The coin appears to have been cut in half, although the cut is a little uneven and probably just over half of the coin remains. Obverse : Large M (no other details visible); +mA[...]DVCIS[...] Reverse : Cross fleury; +BE[NE]DIC[...1]478
