A copper alloy Roman barbarous radiate of a FEL TEMP REPARATIO (Roman soldier advancing left spearing fallen barbarian horseman) nummus issued for the later House of Constantine c. 355-361 AD. From the Numismatic Chronicle, 1933, pp. 182-201, Mattingly describes them as being 'from the normal down to the minutest, from the correct down to the most uncouth'. Arthur E. Robinson, with advice from Mattingly, gave degrees of Barbarism and this coin might fall into group 'F' - Decadent & Reduced!
