Roman coin; probable contemporary copy of a struck copper alloy nummus of Decentius or Magnentius, two Victories reverse, Lyon mint. The coin dates to c.350-353. The designs on both faces are somewhat crude and the inscription on the shield is too short. Also the die axis is unusual. Obv. Bareheaded bust of emperor facing right Inscription illegible Rev. Two Victories holding a shield. The shield reads ‘VOT / X’ No inscription present Mint mark LPG in exergue. Diameter 13.8mm, thickness 1.4mm, weight 1.47g Ref: cf.
