A complete Roman nummus of Emperor Constans (333-350 AD). Minted c. 348-350 AD. Obv.: Pearl diadem, draped, cuirassed bust; legend: [DN] [C]ONST[A]-NSPF AUG. Rev. type: FEL.TEMP.REPAR-ATIO; helmeted soldier, spear in left hand, advancing right, head turned to left; with his right hand, he leads a small bare-headed figure from a hut beneath a tree. Mint mark is illegible and it is impossible to tell the orientation and placement of the spear to correctly determine the mint. A cooper alloy Roman nummus of Constans. Minted in either Lyon or Aquileia between AD 348-350. Obverse depicts a rosette-diademed draped and cuirassed bust, facing left. Obverse legend reads: DN CONSTA-NS PF AVG. Reverse type: FEL TEMP REPARATIO, depicting a helmeted soldier holding an upward-facing spear left, leading a captive from hut with palm tree overhead from left. The butt of the spear is positioned between their two bodies. This coin is in excellent condition, except that it is missing a small segment of the coin pertaining to the mint mark.
