A pierced silver Roman siliqua of Constantius II (AD 323-361) dating to the period c.AD 360-361 (Reece Period 18). The reverse type depicts a wreath containing a legend over four lines reading VOTIS/XXX/MVLTIS/XXXX. Mint of Lyon. This coin is probably an irregular issue and has a large and probably deliberate central rectangular piercing. Cf. RIC p. 193 no. 216 for the prototype; Hoxne nos. 760, 762 for similar irregular siliquae.
