Coins of Constantius Gallus are scarce in Britain. Gallus was appointed Caesar to Constantius II in 351, but most of his coins come from Central and Eastern Empire mints. Only after the defeat of Magnentius in the West were coins briefly struck for Gallus in western mints between 353 and 354 (when Gallus was executed).
